What is Resveratrol?

Resveratrol is a powerful antioxidant of plant origin that belongs to polyphenols and has a beneficial effect on the human body. It is a part of grape seeds and skin, which has given red wine its fame as a healthy drink. It also can be found in knotweed, apple skin, grapefruit, peanuts, and some berries.

Resveratrol fights free radicals and is called the ‘molecule of youth.’

Resveratrol is known for its beneficial properties, and it is amongst the most efficient cell protectors. It contributes to:

  • activating of longevity proteins; therefore, it is included in antioxidant and anti-ageing beauty products;

Resveratrol side effects and overdose

Resveratrol does not cause side effects if taken within a daily dose indicated in the instruction for the supplement. However, its overdose might lead to side effects: the loss of appetite, weight loss, the decline of blood counts, hyperthermia, diarrhoea, rash, itchiness, insomnia, and stomachache.
